The question to ask is, \u201cDoes this promote or take away our employees\u2019 sense of freedom at work?\u201d The behavioural literature suggests that people are\u00a0<em>loss averse<\/em>: <strong>We hate losing twice as much as we enjoy winning.\u00a0<\/strong>Therefore, when a new change process is announced, employees may ask themselves, \u201cWill my skill set become obsolete?\u201d or, \u201cHow much time will I have to waste to onboard?\u201d\u00a0In this spirit, whenever possible, look to frame the messaging in terms of what employees will gain.
